As much as I love writing about mental and emotional health, sometimes I like to take a time out and get a bit personal. If you haven’t guessed it, the two gentlemen on the picture are my older brothers. The grumpy baby in the middle is me. Since then I wasn’t much of a morning person. Anyway, today are their birthday and I just want to take the time out to say Happy Birthday.
I kinda feel like I’m an annoying person when it comes to my brothers, because I talk about them so much. I get the funny feeling my friends has an eternal eye roll every time I mention them. By the way, I have more than two older brothers, but today are the twins special day. Just putting it out there just in case the others may feel some type of way… lol!
Since I have not mention them, specifically the twins, this is the best time to do so! First of all they are amazing! To me, my oldest brother is a genius, because he is a computer nerd and have been since he was a kid. He have won many trophies in his knowledge about computers during his tween and teen years. But he’s not a snob. The coolest and laid back person I know. Now the other one is a talented artist. He knew he wanted to be an artist since he was in 1st grade. He can draw with ink, marker, and pencil. He can also paint and does digital work as well. To me, he is one of the most talented artist and I’m at awe on his skills.
I believe if you get to know all my brothers, you understand why I am the way I am. All that is the best of me came from each of them. And I seriously couldn’t make it through some of my toughest times without them. There are MANY obstacles in my life I faced alone. Most of them I wish I didn’t knowing I had a support system that would be there for me. But you know how depression does it’s evil magic. It lies to you and clouds out the truth.
I can say this… I am the luckiest sister in the world to have such awesome men in my life. Especially nowadays when it seems like there aren’t any wonderful men out there, I always beg to differ because of them. I am forever grateful for everything that they have done, do, and will do. I hope that one day, I will show them all they have done was not in vane. One day, I will make it to the top as them and be considered as their equal and not the baby sister that always needs help. I’ll know I will get there, just have to adult one day at a time.
PS – Show my brothers some love by saying happy birthday on the comments.
